Ever wondered if you’re a ‘dog mum’? Here are a few things that dog mums do….
/ Let’s talk about poo – yep you’ve got a no holds barred approach to the topic of bowel movements and will happily discuss consistency and frequency with pretty much anyone. If you spend your life with a human as well as a furry friend you will both spend a portion of every day confirming that all is well with your furry friends bottom. You worry if there are changes. If there are big changes you’re to be found at the VETS!
/ You worry about them when you’re not together. In fact you check out your dog sitters credentials more than you would a potential human boyfriend or partner. You secretly want regular texts and pictures whilst you’re not there. When you get back you’d like a detailed discussion of how the day went, including toilet trips and what they’ve eaten.
/ Your dog eats better than you do. You might skip a meal or just have a bowl of cereal for dinner, you’d never do that to them. You know that meal times are one of their favourite times of the day.
/ Their joy is your joy. You’re happiest when they are having a good time.
/ Hell has no fury like a dog mum who thinks that someone might hurt their dog. Nothing and I mean nothing will hurt your dog whilst you are there to protect them.
/ You don’t need anyone to tell you your dog’s the best dog in the world, you know it already and there’s nothing anyone can say that can change your mind.
/ You really aren’t that keen on people that your dog doesn’t like or let’s just say if it came to a choice between them or the dog, the one with the four legs would win….EVERY TIME.
/ Their pain is your pain. You cannot bear the thought of them being in pain or being ill and you will do anything you can to help them. Even if it does end up costing you thousands!
/ You can’t bear to think about the day when they may no longer be there….you know you will forever be inconsolable with loss and that nothing will ever be able to replace how you feel about them in your heart.
