This week on Inside Scoop we were lucky enough to chat to the one and only Suki the Shiba Sommelier, wine critic extraordinaire and her human assistants James and Kyoko Crawford.
Suki, the ShibaSommelier, is a 2-year-old Shiba Inu from Brooklyn, where she lives with her beleaguered parents and human assistants, James and Kyoko Crawford. Suki is quite the enterprising, taste-making Shiba and runs her own wine review site, Shiba Sommelier. Since dogs should not partake in wine, Suki’s human assistants taste the wines to verify Suki’s notes based on her superior nose for all things fancy and delicious.
Suki, Kyoko and James answer our 7 inside scoop questions:
WW: What is your favorite food?
James: Anything French, Italian, or Japanese
WW: What is your worst habit?
SS: I don’t understand the question. I am perfect.
J: Peeling my nails
K: My crippling iPhone addiction
WW: What is your biggest dislike?
SS: BATHS. Water is evil.
J: Cruelty in all its forms
K: Snakes and rude people
WW: What is your favorite walk?
SS: Prospect Park!
J & K: Exploring different neighborhoods and brownstones in Brooklyn or wandering around cities when we travel
WW: What is your best quality?
SS: I mean, how do I pick just one? I am perfect. But I guess, if I had to choose, it would be my modesty. And my curly tail. And pointy ears. And my sass.
WW: What would be your perfect day?
SS: CHEEZ for breakfast. Walkies and playtime with furriends in Prospect Park. Morning nap. Crazy playtime with tennis ball and squeaky toy where Mommy and Daddy throw them for me. Naps. Homemade beef & brown rice bowl for dinner. CHEEZ for dessert. More playtime with Mommy and Daddy. Evening nap. More playtime. Sleepytime on Mommy and Daddy’s bed.
J: Wandering around a new city we traveled to, stopping for local wine along the way and losing track of the time of day
K: A morning run by the beach or in the countryside. Krug champagne for lunch. A really good Burgundy for dinner. Food optional.
WW: Do you think you look alike?
SS: GOOD DOG, NO.
J: We have the same haircolor!
K: I should be so lucky to look like Suki.
