If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to spend your days as a doggie model and muse you might like to meet Rabbit, he lives with Lilly Shahravesh, ‘couturier to celebrity canines and founder of Love my Dog.”
Lilly is the designer behind the LoveMyDog label that we wrote about recently in our Stores We Love feature. About to celebrate their 10th anniversary this year, LoveMyDog are based in a design studio in East London. Sharavesh and Rabbit (her official muse) specialise in gorgeous hand-made tweed coats, collars and leads – many of which are stocked in ‘famous’ department stores in London, New York and Tokyo. Her designer collections are also a firm favourite with celebrity dog owners and are often featured on TV. If you’d like a bespoke outfit for your dog, then you can make an appointment to visit the studio for a fitting, visitors also get to meet Rabbit, who as official muse takes his role very seriously.
We asked Lilly how her and Rabbit met. ‘I remember it like it was yesterday seeing Rabbit for the first time. He looked like a tiny wind up dog toy, too perfect to be true. We were completely unprepared, as I hadn’t been planning to get a dog. A friend had phoned out of the blue to say that there was a little terrier puppy that needed a home (the people who were going to take him had changed their mind). For me it was love at first sight, and I literally put him in my husbands coat pocket to take him home. We called him Rabbit because he kept jumping about all the time with his big floppy ears, like a little baby rabbit.’

Lilly and Rabbit answered our 7 Inside Scoop questions.
WW: What is your favourite food?
Lilly: The Roast Lamb at the Approach Pub in East London.
Rabbit: The same as Lilly – if I’m lucky I get some too.
WW: What is your worst habit?
Lilly: Terrible to admit this, but it’s forgetting to feed Rabbit on time. He quickly reminds me though.
Rabbit: Sneaking into Lilly’s bedroom when she’s not looking.
WW: What is your biggest dislike?
Lilly: Irresponsible dog owners.
Rabbit: Cats! Lilly’s talked to me a lot about this, but I just don’t like them. Lilly says it’s like an episode of ‘Tom & Jerry’ whenever one’s around.
WW: What is your favourite walk?
Lilly: Walking in the Yorkshire Dales, we both love it there.
Rabbit: Walking in the Yorkshire Dales with Lilly.
WW: What is your best quality?
Lilly: That would have to be patience and stamina, you need both when running a business.
Rabbit: As Lilly’s muse, it would definitely be strutting my stuff on the catwalk in my couture creations.
WW: What would be your perfect day?
Lilly: Cycling to Regents Park in the morning on a sunny winter day with Rabbit in his basket, Stopping at our favourite café in the park and eating a big breakfast (bacon & egg roll for me and a sausage for Rabbit). Heading back to our studio in East London, cycling along the Thames with Rabbit at the front checking out the sights of London along the embankment.Once we get to the studio I love locking myself in to the design room planning the next LoveMyDog collection with Rabbit at my side. I get all my new found fabrics, Rabbit & my inspiration images out on to the cutting table (Rabbit plonks himself down on top of the fabrics and has a snooze!). I often find inspiration in… Miss Marple, Marmalade, Chatsworth House, Victoria sponge cake, Outer Hebrides Scotland and East London whilst cycling round with Rabbit in my basket on our way home. The perfect end to the day is curling up on the sofa with Rabbit in front of the open fire watching an Agatha Christie DVD!
Rabbit: Same as Lilly’s, we’re a partnership.
WW: Do you think you look alike?
Lilly: Umm, I don’t think so, but we’ve both got big noses!
Rabbit: No. I’ve got fur and four legs, plus I’m a model! We do have similar noses though.
